A weekend of blood and malice has plagued the Gaza strip this weekend, yet again, as Israeli forces seek to wipe out Islamic Jihad - a Iranian proxy group which seeks to resist the Israeli regime. The attacks have resulted in 31 deaths, 4 of which are women and 6 children. As well as this, Israel reportedly had cut gas supplies prior to the attacks to strangle the lone power plant in Gaza, reducing electricity usage to 4 hours per day.
The risk of escalation is currently high with Iranian forces, who back the Islamic Jahid, stating 'Israel must pay a price', which is echoed by Hamas. The US stands with two pro-Zionist feet supporting Israel's wish to establish a Jewish ethno-state, as does potential PM Liz Truss who said: "The UK stands by Israel and its right to defend itself. We condemn terrorist groups firing at civilians and violence which has resulted in casualties on both sides. We call for a swift end to the violence." What is consistently apparent in these narratives and portrayals of the conflict is that Hamas and Iran are presented as the criminals; whilst the International law breaking, human right violating Israeli regime stand between their Western allies; all with blood dripping from their hands.
Contrary to Truss' statement, there have been no deaths recorded as a result of Hamas retaliation, primarily due to Israel's first class defense system in the form of the iron dome. All under the fundings of the UK and US federal governments, which continues to this day, with former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak claiming: "Iran’s quest for regional hegemony and the threat it poses to Israel concerns me deeply,” Sunak wrote. “We cannot allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon and the UK and Israel must enhance our diplomatic, defense and intelligence cooperation to prevent this from happening."
The roots of such relations between the US, the UK and Israel date back to the Balfour Declaration, essentially seizing land in Palestine, violating International Law. Subsequently leading the UN passing policy to establish a Jewish state in Palestine post-Nazism, leading to the mass exodus of indigenous Palestinians and numerous Arab-Jewish wars.
The narratives of Israel partisanship in Western media is the tip of an iceberg which beneath lies years of corruption and thousands of lives innocently taken.
